About Me

Krista and family at remote fishing camp

Growing up at our family's off-grid fishing camp in rural Ohio

I grew up in rural Ohio, where summers were spent on my family's off-grid fishing camp, hours from the nearest town. With no electricity, I learned to drive a boat, start generators, and haul fuel just to watch cartoons. That upbringing taught me grit, resourcefulness, and the value of hard work.

As a first-generation college student and woman in STEM, I'm pursuing a B.S. in Computer Science and Engineering with minors in Business and Mathematics and a specialization in Artificial Intelligence.

What Drives Me

Leading food insecurity initiatives at Buckeye Food Alliance

Coming from a low‑income area, I've seen how financial literacy can change lives. I care about building tools that help people manage money better, reduce waste, and make informed investing choices.

Fun Facts and Passions

Music has been my passion since I was four. I considered majoring in music before choosing Computer Science.
When I was nine, I performed live with Kenny Rogers and Linda Davis as part of our county children's chorus.
Favorite builds include Retake Ardennia (MATLAB game) and GateKeeper (QR‑based property access system).
At Buckeye Food Alliance, I helped launch the Monda Student Resource Center to expand access to food and hygiene products for students.
